Don Montague: A Lifetime of Law Enforcement

Don began his career in law enforcement in 1967 with the Texas Highway Patrol. Throughout his 18 years tenure with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, Don shared his wealth of experience and knowledge to form, lead and command various task forces. In 1996 Don was elected Sheriff of Hays County and served in that capacity until 2005 when he retired and pursued a new role as Director of the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center. In August of 2020 Don was appointed Hays County Constable of Precinct 3 by the Hays County Commissioner’s Court. He was elected to the position in November and is now seeking re-election for his second term.

Assist with the Take Back Drugs Program

Work with Wimberley Emergency Preparedness Team to respond to natural disasters

Training Jointly with Fire and EMS to more effectively respond to active attack events to keep our schools and community safe

Established working relationships with Wimberley ISD, Fire, EMS, Sheriff’s Office, and the Community to better serve citizens of Hays County

Established a Traffic Enforcement Section

Assists Sheriff’s Office with calls as needed
